2006 ICPSR Summer Program in Quantitative Methods of Social Research
ICPSR has opened the registration to its
2006 Summer Program. This annual
program offers research students and new faculty members a comprehensive,
integrated course in research design, statistics, data analysis, and social
methodology. The program provides active participatory data analytic
experiences that complement formal lectures and discussions. In general,
emphasis is focused on those courses and subjects that are not normally an
integral part of the curricula of member institutions.
New courses added to the 2006 curriculum include among others:
- Quantitative Research on Race and Ethnicity
- Longitudinal Analysis of Historical Demographic Data
- Aging and Health Among Hispanics and Latin Americans
- Statistical Analysis with Missing Data
- Analyzing Developmental Trajectories
- People, Place, and Environment in NE Thailand
- Health Care Change in the U.S.
There are two four-week Summer Program sessions, with intensive seminars
and special workshops. The first session will take place in June 26 - July 21
and the second in July 24 - August 18.
ISDC, representing the Israeli National Membership in the ICPSR consortium,
allocates a small subsidy for 1-2 Israeli participants every year. Nevertheless,
candidates are well advised to obtain other funds for travel and accommodation
expenses.
